July 4

Today is July 4th.  Its really crowded today on Hilton Head.  Maybe I will start posting some of my thoughts about whatever.

I really miss Kacie today.  Jeff called yesterday and that always makes me sad because I start thinking about Kacie and everything that happened, Even though its great to hear from him.  Im happy that he has stayed in touch with us.  Right now he is stationed in Seoul, Korea for the year.

We went out on the boat yesterday and left really early to beat the heat.  Gary caught 2 pretty big sharks so that made his day.  We might go again tomarrow.

Kacie's many interests

I happened to be watching TV and a movie called Lemony Snickett caught my eye. This sounded so familiar and I finally realized Kacie and I went to see the movie on one of her trips down here. This brought back memories of how she would always want me to go with her to see children's movies like Peter Pan, Little Miss Sunshine, Richie Rich, and many more that Im trying to remember. She said she could never talk any of her friends into going with her, so she would get me to go when she came to Hilton Head.

Just thinking about this today.

Follow Up To Jeff's Zuchini Story

When the smoke detector went off, I ran downstairs into the kitchen and the whole room was just a fire ball with black smoke pouring up to the ceiling. Jeff and Kacie were just staring at the zuchini and apparently were too terrified to react. I grabbed the pan and threw it into the back yard. The sensible thing to do would have been to simply put a top on the pan but nobody thought of that. Nancy and I talked about this but we could not remember what our dog Sam did. Gus was under the bed but Sam, who is no longer with us, was not to be found.

To this day, whenevere we grill or fry anything, our dog Gus has a flashback and he runs for the back porch or to the bedroom.
